Flex Seal Products
Has anyone used the Flex Seal tape or sealants on a cracked holding tank?
I have used the proper patch kit on my galley holding tank that still wants to leak?

If your tank is ABS, the black plastic material that is the same as the black plumbing pipe used for vent and sewer piping, you can use Plasti-mend. I repaired a crack in the bottom of our grey tank with one of their kits, and it is solid, no leaks. I don't really think any tape product will hold for the long term.

I used JB Weld PlasticWeld to repair a tank on a SOB that I used to have.

Snap Pad now recommends, in their installation manual, to spray a coat of Flex Seal on your foot pads prior to installation. I wire brushed mine, then put a coat of Rustoleum on them. Once that was dry, I sprayed on a coat of Flex Seal, then installed the Snap Pads.
Wouldn't use it for a leaking tank. It wouldn't hold.

I used flex-seal on the roof of my old class A on the front roof seam. It lasted three months and then flaked/peeled off. Not recommended.
In an emergency eternabond will seal a cracked holding tank or shower pan or water tank or skylight or roof leak. I always carry a roll of 4" just in case.

I was just imagining a commercial with Phil Swift applying Flex Seal to a leaky black tank.

And then just think of how he would show that the tank was leak free

Ditto on what Rohrmann says. Have used Plasti-mend on a number of things. Works very well. Not sure how it would hold up on something that flexes a lot.

I used flex seal on my old Cougar roof. In about 4 months it turned yellow, looked like ... really bad, and it also peeled. But only in places so it made it look worse.

Great replies from all.
I had mixed feelings on using the flex seal products and see it was best to hold off.
I used the recommended repair product by the forum and the leaked continued. Good thing it is the galley tank and not the black tank.
Thank you for the replies.
