Dometic Toilet Install

Has anyone installed a Dometic model 320 in a Montana model 3402 RL. The toilet room is pretty small and i would like to change the toilet to the model 320 if it would fit. Thanks.

I installed the 310 model in ours, and as there is only a few inches more in length, the 320 will work fine. We are very happy with ours, and glad we got rid of the problem Thetford toilet that came in our rig.

Another question. Does the toilet have to be installed with the bolts in the same place as old toilet or can the toilet be turned a little bit as to clear the back wall. The old toilet has the bolts at 9 and 3 and that is fine but i have 12 inches from center hole to back wall on one side and 10 1/4 from center bolt hole to back wall on the other, so i need to twist the toilet a little to have the 11 inches that is required for fit on both sides.Has anyone actually installed the dometic 320 in there montana 3402 rl. This is the problem when the toilet is installed at an angle.

310 requires a minimum of 10 inches between wall and center point (hold down bolts) of rough in.

I just installed a 320 and a shut off last week on my 2010 3150RL.

To install at an angle you may have to re-position and secure the floor flange.

I just installed the dometic 320 in my 3402rl. The old toilet was installed at an angle for more room but i repositioned the flange so it would be straight and the toilet was about an inch from the rear wall. I could have turned the toilet to about a 10 or 11 o'clock position but i don't think it would have helped much with room. My studs were at exactly 11 inches from the back wall. I purchased my apex connections with the toilet and everything connected together with no problem. You can just about wash your hands while sitting on the toilet but Montana just didn't leave a lot of room in this model. If the 320 will fit in the model 3402rl then it should fit in any other Montana. This was an easy install with no supprises. I wish i could say that about some of my other improvements.

Did you HAVE to rotate the flange or will it bolt up as is?

Just installed the 320 in our 13 3402 Big Sky last week.It was on a angle and we left it that way. The water connections needed to be re positioned but no big deal.Studs are 11 inches from back wall. It drops right in except for the water connection. Big improvement.

I want to replace our toilet with the dometic 320. Now is the perfect time to do it since we have not used the black tank yet.

It's been a while since i installed it but i don't believe you have to rotate the flange. I know i rotated mine on account it was at an angle and i installed it straight. Great improvement.

Is the pex water line and the toilet connection 1/2"? Our Dometic 320 is being shipped and I'll probably install it with a shutoff valve next week. I'm thinking of using a shark bite shutoff valve with a 1/2" threaded male end (if I can find one). Then I want to use a flexible 1/2" threaded hose with female connections on both ends. For those of you who have done this does this sound like a reasonable solution?

Our Dometic 320 with sprayer arrived late yesterday via FedEx much to my surprise. I went to Lowes this morning and picked up a SharkBite shutoff valve. It was 1/2" "press to connect" on one side and 1/2" threaded male on the other side. This is the part from Home Depot https://www.homedepot.com/p/SharkBit...-205744806-_-N. I also got a 1/2" faucet hose (female both sides). Since we have never used the original toilet the black tank was not soiled so the job did not stink. Overall the job was easy. It was just cramped quarters. When my DW saw the size of the new toilet she kind of freaked out (that's her job BTW). She said "no way that's going to fit. It's going to hit the door". Guess what? The door cleared it with 2" to spare on a straight install. Now I need to pressure test the connections but I'm going to wait until we have a good stretch of warm weather. I am a little concerned about the connection to the toilet. I guess I will find out at some point in time.

We had the 320 Installed last week since our OEM junk failed and flooded the RV. Do not remember what it cost as we ordered it through the mobile Rv repair service that we use here in Florida. 320, shipping and installation by the repair service cost me 100.00 out of pocket as our Extended warranty paid the rest. Our splendide W/D also failed after 11 years of use Circuit board and heating element both replaced at the same time all under extended warranty. It was a tough job watching but we got through it.

update we just paid the bill for the Replacement john and the splendide repair.

Dometic 320 ..ordered via Camping connection Florida 257.00 plus shipping plus service call and installation.

Splendide stopped heating. It has been acting up and when at the fall rally we went to the Splendide factory in Elkhart to ask some questions. The tech gave us a print with
the probable causes the part numbers and the cost of each part. The splendide failed in Florida and Camping connection did the troubleshooting , part ordering and installation. The splendide tech in Elkhart gave us the worst case and probable part failure of the Control board which was 518.59 splendide OEM cost and it was the control board plus the heating element that shorted out at a cost of 154.99.

The cost of the parts, shipping, installation , taxes , service call 1734.88.That included 600.00 in labor cost.Labor cost here in Florida are 135.00 per hour.

I may have got those parts for less somewhere however out of the total cost of 1734.99 our extended warranty covered 1537.72 for a cost to me of 197.16 of which 100.00 was the extended warranty deductible. I figure we got our 197.16 worth. To answer the usual question about getting your money back on a extended warranty which I do not understand..... On this Rv one replacement cooling unit on fridge. 4 holding tanks replaced. Replacemnet John and splendide repair, failed hot water tank which was a installation issue with Keystone. Yes we got our Money back with a few years left on the warranty. The extended warranty also paid for itself on the 06 3400.

For those that installed the Dometic did you just bend the pex over to the new position or did you create a 90 degree solution similar to 7.3Ford?

Well just finished installing my 320 toilet with sprayer and it is the best seat in the house! Bolted right in no moving the flange at all. Used a pex shark bite elbow and plumbed right in! I will rework the line this summer I think though. Also put valves under sinks, haven’t figured out where to put Valves on shower lines yet?
