Need expert Michelin tire advice
2003 F250 w/16x7 aluminum rims. I want to upgrade from the stock 235/85/16's to 265/75/16's to get the additional load rating of the 265. Specs for the 265 require a 7-8" rim while the 235 requires a 6-7" rim. By using the stock 7" rims (lower end of the requirements) am I sacrificing any of the additional load rating I am looking for in the 265's?
Thanks for any responses.

I am running the stock rims that are on my 97 ford. I am running the Michelin 265/75/16. Have not had a problem. When I first went to the Michelins I told the tire guy I wanted to run the largest tire I could with my rims. Hence the 265's

You will do just fine with the 265/75R16 tires on your stock wheels. I use the same size on my stock wheels which are the same as yours. You will sacrifice nothing, except a few more dollars

Thank you - Discount Tire currently has a $70 rebate on these tires. $839.00 mount, balance and tax (8.25%). Sound fair?

Yes that sounds pretty fair to me. It's a little less than I normally sell them for, but it would be a good price if I were having a sale.

Excelent
I have the "03" F-250 with the same rims you have. I am running the 265/75 R16. You will have no problems. I doubt very seriously you will beat Discount Tire.
Question, are you going to LT tire? If the price that Discount Tire gave you was for "LT" tires that was a good price. Usually Sam's Club and Discount Tire are right on. If you wouldn't mind sharing your info, PM me. Thanks...Sooner Hooligan

That price included the $70 rebate. I purchased the tires today at Discount Tire in Corpus Christi, TX. Here are the charges:
4 - LT265/75R-16/E1 123R Michelin LTX M/S ORWL 197.00 788.00
4 - Installation & Lifetime Spin Balancing 14.00 56.00
4 - A506 Performance Valve 3.00 12.00
4 - Trade-In Tires 25.00 -100.00
Sub 756.00
Tax 57.75
Total 813.75
Mail-In Rebate -70.00
New Total 743.75
My original quote did not include adding steel valve stems, hence the difference. The build date was 4608(November 2008)on all 4 tires. Hope this is the information you were looking for.
Thank you all who gave me information. They are good looking tires.

Thanks Excelent for the info. Very good deal indeed. Checked on Sam's Web site, I think you beat them (no rebate). I gave a grand for my Michelin Ribs for the 329RL. Best insurance there is.

Very Good Price. My Michelin Ribs were just under one grand. Expensive....not when you consider that a cheaper tire could/would do $3,000 damage to your RV.
PRICELESS!!!!

Did the same deal as excelent here in the Denver area 2 days ago. At least Discount is consistent. Same deal almost to the dollar with a little difference in tax. Couldn't swing any kind of trade allowance though as mine were too worn. Good tires, the third set I've owned.
