selling silver coins

We had gone to one of the coin buyers, the ones with the big ads.
their first offer we turned down and then they ended up doubling the offer. We felt uneasy and walked and went to a coin dealer and got three time the first offer!! So beware!!

Silver and Gold coins can have two different values. bullion and collector. Collector price is always equal to or higher than bullion. From what I have seen, silver and gold buyers always offer lower prices.

Were you selling old coins or more modern mintages?

Pre 64 silver coins (nothing with key dates) should be selling at around 11 times face value except for morgan and peace dollars.

That's only true if you are selling to an individual. If you are selling to a coin shop or commodities dealer, it will be a lot less.

Well we sold to coin shop and they did the best and have to agree that the ones who come to town and leave are worst
