Campground ideas in Rockport, TX?

We are headed back to the Rockport area again after the first of the year. Can anyone recommend THE campground to stay? We would like a pet friendly, somewhat shaded and nice sized lot, preferably in town. Is that asking too much?

We've been there once before and stayed at a newer cg outside of town. No trees, but lots of wind, small lot. It seemed to us when driving thru Rockport that most of the cg's had pretty small lots. Any help would be appreciated.

I think http://www.lagoonsrv.com/ is about the nicest one close to town. Lots of trees, and about as close as you'll get to town. Now, I don't know about pet friendly, but most of the parks require you to keep the pup on leash and pick up after it. We had the idea of moving there, but moved back to Aransas Pass instead. Just can't give up the water.

BTW, along with the trees comes the skitters!
