Census sent
Well, I got my form, it was no big deal, a few questions that were not intrusive. I was mis-informed about the questions.
I filled it out and it is in the mail.
It was so stupid and wasteful for them to send out the letter to everyone last week or so telling everyone that the form would be send the following week or two. Whatever moron that thought that up should have had to pay for it. Where do they find these people?

The census is already way over budget. Is anyone surprised?

I also got ours, and was misinformed that there were questions on the personal side on the form, but as usual there are those out there that are spreading these words of stupidity, are as there words.

I saw the form on the Internet and I did not see anything intrusive.

Waynem, you are probably not Hispanic/Mexican-American/Chicano/Latino. I have never been so confused in my life and I didn't know I no longer belong to a race. I think that I might be white, or black or Chinese. If my dad was part Spaniard does that mean he might be part Morrocan or Arabic? Is that a race? I am so confused.
But they now have my phone number. They can call me if I don't pass the test, then they can tell me what I am.

There you go Art, check "Other," and put in Hispanic/Mexican-American/Chicano/Latino. Let them figure it out.
I mean, don't you want to know what minority you are in? Me, I'm in the white minority, I think. But my father kept blaming the ice man, so I don't know for sure.

But my dad told me the same thing about the milkman, but the milkman was a Latino and the government no longer regards that as a race so does that mean I am no longer a minority? And I thought "American" is only a race if you were Native American. Maybe I shouldn't have given them my phone number.

I posted this on the other post on the census,
Quote: (I honestly do not see nothing on this form that for me is a problem. I have found in the past that vendors ask for more information on warranty forms when you buy something then what is on this form. I just bought a ceiling fan and they asked more personnal info then I think they need to know, ex: age, sex, income, buying habits, etc; I think they are more invasive then this form.)

Art,
Do the numbers 27318, or 0963 have any meaning to you?

I agree! Now what to list...???? I am at a loss on this...
I would think having to list your income,
ethnicity, and age, personal questions.
All they really need is how many people live in the house.

I escaped this one. We got back from our 3 week trip and found the Census form waiting.
I passed on it and Earlene filled it out. I have no idea what she checked or said, and I don't want to know, just as long as she said "alive."

As a fulltimer, we are still waiting for a formal contact although we were approached at a campground in Los Cruces, N.M. by a census taker- He said we would get a mailed form but it seems a form can not be mailed to a P.O. box- We certainly want to be counted as S.D. residents and are concerned that we and many other fulltimers without property will be excluded- Each of us not counted will screw up the totals in apportioning Congress- This also effects the appropiation of federal funds for many state programs- If any Mocer can relieve my concern, please post- Thanx- Don

Check libraries. Many of them have census forms you can fill out and mail in. Plus, any census taker can give you a phone number you can call to get a copy of the census form. My wife asked a census taker where there might be forms available. He told her about a school here in Victorville, CA. We went there, picked up a form, filled it out and mailed it in. It contains a self-addressed envelope, postage paid by the census bureau.
