New owner from Maine

Hi, we just purchased our first 5th wheel -- a 2018 Montana 3130RE. We purchased it off of the lot at the Hershey show. We are very excited. Now we have to purchase our tow vehicle.

The 3130RE is the upgraded former 3000RE. The Keystone website does not show this model yet.

Welcome, this is a great place to share and get info. What changed between the 300RE and 3130RE?

Good luck finding the right TV. There is a fair amount of info here to help with that.

Welcome to the club. I'm a 'newbi' (to the club) myself. We (wife & I) just bought our second 5th wheel but it's our first new one. Maybe we'll meet somewhere in the middle. I'm California looking to leave for good.

The floor plan is basically unchanged. The biggest change that we can see is that the rear end behind the TV used to be a wooden panel. The new model now has a large window behind the TV location. The rear area is now much brighter. When you do not want to watch TV, the TV lowers into the basic cabinet and is completely out of sight. The raising and lowering is powered.

There are likely other subtle changes that a seasoned 3000RE owner would notice. We don't have that insight.

Thanks. We went with the 3160 over the 3000 for more light inside. We had not seen the 3130. Still really happy with the 3160 although 2018 is the last year for it according to their website.

Good luck with your new Montana. Wishing you many happy adventures down the road and good times. Tow Vehicle? You have many options from the big three or you could go over and above the generic 1 tons. They sky is the limit. Just make sure whatever you get is sufficient for your needs.
Happy camping and safe travels.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new Montana. As for a truck make sure it is big enough to pull your next Montana which will be bigger.

We are set on a RAM 3500 Cummins/Aisin, likely DRW.

You can't go wrong with that as a dually. You won't have to be switching trucks like I had to myself and many others on this forum.
