Black Refrigerators

There have been a number of discussions about the new black refrigerators on various threads on the forum. Today we took our rig to the dealer for some very minor warranty work before we blast off on a trip. They had just gotten two new rigs in, both with black refrigerators. When I said something about people not liking the change from wood, he said that last night they got an email from Keystone saying there would be no more black refrigerators...back to wood.

But the good news is that there were a lot of folks that got them and liked the black door and now they will be among the lucky few that will have one.

I can't be positive, but I think you can easily order the black panels from Dometic if that's what you prefer (they might already be behind the wood). It just didn't work the other way around, as Dometic doesn't make the wood panel.

Imagine that! The power of MOC! It is hard to believe they only used the black fridge for a few months...ours just came in last week, and just a few weeks prior to that, they were wood. Interesting...we got the black fridge. I like it ok so I guess I'm a lucky one, but wonder what happens when I go to re-sell it and I have one of the "few" that have the black panels. Wonder if that will hurt any? Not that I'm going to be getting rid of it anytime soon!

We received our new 3400RL on Tuesday; it is one of the luck few that has the black door. Seriously, we really like the black very much. The new carpet is also nice; we requested the darker and are lucky I guess because that's what we got. Other than the antenna rubbing a hole in the roof and the "insulated" underbelly not being sealed everything really looks great. BTW the dealer sealed the underbelly but the antenna deal wasn't found till yesterday.

Hopefully or 3400 will serve us well, as soon as the old homestead sells we are getting back on the road.

Just shows that Keystone does value the opinions of its customers.

We have the wood on our new 07 3000RK, so it must have been one of the first batch of 07's. Like the wood, and probably would have been happy with the black door. It is nice to know Keystone is paying attention.

The only place we have found for our magnets is the exhaust hood over the stove. Not much room but they do hold. I've thought of putting some type of metal on that wall to hide the stickers Keystone puts there. You can't take the stickers off as the paper on the "wood" comes off also.
Happy trails.....................

I got to see the black fridge today and the first thing I saw when I walked through the front door was the finger prints on the door. It sure stands out when you open the front door. It's not bad looking but I prefer the wood.

I got to see the black fridge this weekend - and the first thing I saw was ME -

Wow- they could have used a matted finish or something - it's like a full length mirror! .

Sorry - nothing personal but it's still a sale breaker for me.

Brad my dealer told me that Keystone says you can only get it with wood now and that they offer a wood upgade kit for anyone that wanted to get rid of the black. However there is a fee.

Amazing at how a few members don't like a change that Keystone has made and within a month, the change has been changed again. Now lets see what we can do with that mirror in the front end cap....

MAC - ahahahaha! You're right - even scared me away.

Dennis - I hope that's correct - We're most likely going to order tomorrow and the wood door is already a contingency in the deal.

Brad,

Oh sure, you're too good for the 2955RL crowd anymore! I suppose that means we won't be going out together next summer.
