So what about the 'boom'?

Our new/old '10 3665 came with a sewer 'boom' that looks like a good idea, but when I tried hooking up our standard Rino hose - it wouldn't fit into the boom pipe! Since this hose collapses really well, what is one supposed to do here? Personally, I wouldn't mind just taking the thing off, putting our Rino in a dedicated bin and dealing with it all that way. Does anyone really use this 'feature'?

Some love it, some hate it. Some have replaced the original tube with this; http://www.campingworld.com/shopping...e-carrier/6371
I installed a additional valve at the end to eliminated problems up stream (stuck valve). I cut the lugs off the Rhino fittings and house 15' of hose. Swing it out, remove the cap, install my clear and 90 fitting, and I'm ready to dump. It's all up to your personal choice.

Most folks seem to not like the boom-I have a Rino 10 foot sewer pipe connected to mine and the boom works great. Some camp ground are close enough that a 10 footer connects.I have a 20 foot add on for times 10ft is not enough. As stated my boom works fine for me,others don't like it-

I did *EXACTLY* what Pineranch did. In 18 months of traveling, I have had to add an extension sewer hose only one time. Normally, I just swing the boom, connect the clear adapter with a 90° screw in sewer pipe adapter and let it dump.

I like the boom, many do not. Interestingly, the 2013 models no longer have a sewer boom. Unfortunately, when they took the boom away they forgot, on some models, to install a storage location in the "J" panel.

I LOVE MY MISSILE LAUNCHER!

I wouldn't leave home without it.

I suspect that many who do not like it have not made the necessary modification to make it useful. Once I made this mod the system is awesome.

As delivered it's too short and can't hold a useful amount of hose. So I corrected that by removing the OEM and replacing with one that now holds a full length of rino plus another 5'. So I have 20' - All connected and in the tube just waiting to launch those missiles on command. No need to make any connections. Just pull it out, stick the end in the dump hole, pull the valves and let it rip.

The other problem with all ejection systems is the lack of of a shut off valve on the end of the sewer pipe. How many times have you popped the cap to be greeted with a surprise?

The outlet valve solves that. I added one right before where the hose connects.

At the front end I added an eye ring to add support and some bungees to hold it all snug.

In over 25,000 miles of travel with this set up I can say that I now no longer dread hurling dung. The slope of the tube usually eliminates any need to support the hose. I can position the rig at a dump and only have to pull out a foot or two.

Super easy and super clean. It only takes about 30 seconds to deploy and its BOMBS AWAY!

Oh... an yes - I know that I spelled Missile wrong.... Some snot nosed little 4th grader told me so and put me in my place.

At first I did not like it so I took it off because like you said my sewer hose would not fit in the boom ,then I thought I would give it another try when I bought a new Blueline sewer hose and it fits perfect inside the boom and whadda ya know now I like it it looks nice and tidy,I love the way those Blueline hoses work!

I liked the boom until it cracked and I was going to have to replace it. I originally thought I would replace it with a longer boom. I put a shutoff valve on instead and added a clear 90 with a cap for going down the road(boom then wouldn't fit right). I already had a storage fence post under the rig so I had all the hose I needed stored anyway and now that I have it I really like the way it's rigged up now.

I installed a longer boom as well. I have a 15 ft Rhino in it and it works most of the time. I also store a spare 10 ft section in the propane compartment. Screwed the original short boom to the frame and use it to store my short slinky that I use for the blue four wheeler when I tow it to the dump station. I like the boom...

We also like the sewer boom, and like others put in a longer hose which will collapse into the boom without having to disconnect.

The 2013 3402 has the longer boom and we use it all the time.
