Recommendations on RIMS

Recently acquired 2006 Montana GVWR is 14000. GAWR is 6000 per axle. Rims are chrome and not original. They are stamped on inside Max Load 2500.

This seems insufficient considering it's less than the GAWR of the axle.

Looking to replace them. Suggestions on Rims and tires appreciated.

tks

Sailun tires and aluminum wheels that will support 110 PSI with metal valve stems. Online is probable your best bet to find them.

My wheels are Hi-Spec. You can google them on line and there are several vendors for these. The Sailun tires i bought came from Simple Tire.com. This is usually the cheapest place to buy these on the internet.

the suspension plus pin weight makes up your GVWR that's where the number comes from, they don't just make it up. so 6000+6000=12000+2000 on the pin total 14000. If you had 7000lbs axles your GVWR would be 16,000 or 16500 which is the GVWR of the newer Montanas. its all about the suspension.

Go with what Jason says. Subtract your pin from GVWR to get load on axles. Mine is 17,000-3,000=14,000. My axles are rated 7,000 each. So then divide by 2 =3,500. My rims are stamped 3,750. Yours are 2,500. 4x2,500=10,000 so might be overloaded if your pin is low. I might be looking at replacement rims. Are your rims 15" or 16"? Discount Tire has a good selection but the suggestion of Simple Tire with Sailun Tires I will say is good. They will mount, balance and ship direct to you.

Followup post....purchased from simpletire.com. Service was excellent . Bought four and spare....mounted balanced and shipped to me.

Have now put more than 10,000 miles on the Sailun tires are incredible. They never lose pressure. Have no noticeable wear. Outstanding performance. They are now on 38 ft Alpine with four slideouts. Would definitely buy these again
