I would first check the fuse panel, sounds like it is something simple. Not sure what rig you have, but on ours the entire panel in the basement that the outlet is on is held on by screws which can be removed to allow access to the rear of the panel where the outlet is mounted. Check the wire connections there as well. Keep us informed for future reference purposes plese.
