Leaking kitchen faucet
My faucet is leaking around the base on top of the counter. The faucet does not appear to be loose. It is a swivel type. Any suggestion on how to fix it.
Thanks Lou

Well, sounds to me like one of the valves (hot/cold) has failed or a crack has developed in the body. Likely only solution is to replace it.

Noneck's solution is the one we used. We even did it while the faucet was under the original warranty. I did have another reason after getting the first faucet replaced under warranty since our Vesta Dishwasher would not connect to the OEM faucet. Believe we got it at Home Depot:

We have the same problem...if somebody knows of a faucet that will match the color of the old one (hopefully a different brand), please post it.

We replaced ours with a Price Phister from Lowe's. I think it is called antique bronze. It was pretty pricey but it looks nice and works well. Try to find some skinny guy with long arms to install it. I'm not either of those and believe me, it's a tight fit under that sink. During manufacture I imagine they install the faucet before they put on the countertops unless they have a bunch of wirey little monkeys running about.

Same coach as you grandpa. Leaked when new. Replacement leaked too, but was able to tighten it up. Been fine since. Being out of warranty, I'd sure go look for a real one at Lowes, etc.

I had a problem with our bathroom faucet, and had to remove it. It was all plastic! I would be curious to know how much they paid that one. I should have replaced it then, but for now it's been OK.
