Water heater
I am getting a DSI fault on my water heater. I have to shut the water heater off, wait a few seconds then turn water heater back on. What is the DSI fault and what needs to be done to fix it. Any help appreciated.

One possible cause. It takes time for propane to flow through the line to the hot water tank when first lighting up. The tank electronics will attempt to light a flame using a spark ignition. If after a few attempts the flame does not light due to lack of propane, the DSI fault lamp comes on. We had this happen our last time out. Furnace lit up after switching off then on and trying a second time. If yours doesn't light after a couple of tries, I'm sure there will be more suggestions from other forum members.

thanks for the reply. The water heater lites up when we first turn it on. Over night it came up with DSI fault. We left the gas switch on, this has happened twice this weekend. I'm going to check the elements and anode. We bought this Monty used and am learning all about it. This is a very good site to lean. Also had a black tank leak, witch the rv dealer fixed.

I would suggest that it is the gas solenoids, probably the one closest to the water tank where it gets pretty warm. They should OHM out at about 40.

Went to RV repair shop. Circut board tested marginal. Install new board and serviced water heater. Water lites on first click, much faster than it was. Going to try it out this weekend. will post how it works.

Water heater worked great, had not problems. the water was even hotter. New circut board and service of water heater fixed the problem. Didn't get any more DSI faults.
