OK Ozz - The level of technical detail on the Amazon page is way to intense! I'm going to have to absorb a little bit at a time , or maybe you could give us a hint as to what it actually does!

Ozz: You have way too much spare time to look at things. Tell dw to find you some work.

I love neat stuff like that.
It's good to have on a car, or truck-boat, you don't drive much, if a phantom load run the battery down, it will only let it go to a certain level of discharge, then it automatically discharges the battery from the circuit. You reset, it and have enough juice to start the engine. Cool.

Reading about this device, there is a down side to most newer cars/trucks. When it is reset, your alarm will go off. And when it disconnects your battery (because of low power) you will loose all your presets on the radio/cd and clocks.

I think I would not use it on my new truck, or any new vehicle, just an occasional use vehicle, like an antique car, or such
