Trip to Idaho

We are thinking about taking a trip to Idaho this summer. We hear there is Great fly fishing, wineries, and river float trips.

We would like to know
What month is the best time to go May thru September?
Is it better to go North, Central, Southeast,or Southwest?
Were is the best area to fish for Steelhead?
Best area to hike and see the sights?
How are the wineries?
What are the good CG?

My suggestion is to come to Idaho in the months of July or August. Those are the best months for fun in the sun, great temps, and alot of activity. I suggest northern Idaho, Coeur D' Alene and Sandpoint are 2 amazing areas with so much to do. While you are up this way, head west 30 miles to Spokane, WA. We have many great lakes and rivers to do some fly fishing in over here in Eastern Washington.

I would suggest January. That will make you appreciate Colorado Springs. Seriously, we were in Northern Idaho in late August of this year and it was beautiful. Coeur D'Alene is one of the most scenic places we have visited.

I agree with Coeur D'Alene being the most beautiful but you can't go wrong anywhere in Idaho. The Snake River is an awesome one to follow for all kinds of fun. There are many wineries in the area Moscow and across the border into Washington

Oh yes, the wineries! Made the annual run to the Yakima Valley in central Washington this past summer. You could spend days going to each and every one of them, and the free samples... oh how it will sneek up on you. =) Walla Walla, WA area has some neat places to explore as well. As Helen said, the Snake river down by Lewiston, ID and Clarkston, WA has river boat rides as well as some amazing fishing from what I have been told.

Coeur D'Alene gets our vote as well. Beautiful. However we enjoyed all of Idaho. We were there in June and weather was great. Plus you can get together with Dave while you are there which is an added bonus!
Happy trails.......................
