Probably you only do damage by tramping around on the roof and especially power washing. It’s like those who believe a bowel cleanse is good.

Well WaltBennett was right for sure, do a search rather then listening to the opinions of others

I agree with miton 5052. I have seen the Flex Armor demonstrated at RV shows. Very impressive and they come to you.

Cleaning the roof, for what reason?? ANYTHING that CLEANS will STRIP. It's just a matter of how much it strips. The milder it is the less it will strip. NEVER power wash it.
If you have to clean it (so it's pretty to low flying aircraft) use a garden hose without concentrating the stream and without detergent.
Elastomeric, which you can get at Lowe's or Home Depot, has an extensive warranty and if you have to use a protectant on anything that is exposed to the sun, you can't beat it.
Another 2 cents worth for you to consider!
Hope whatever you do works for you.

Roof coating

I appreciate all the replies. One thing I have to say though, I have spent many hours researching this topic. I've read different RV roof coating manufacturers information, I've watched videos and I posted here for your opinions and others personal experience? But to a few of you it seems I should have just done my research and not asked for advice here?? I'm not sure why, I thought that's what a forum like this one is for, asking questions, giving advice and helping others? As for cleaning the roof, I didn't do it for airplanes flying over, I did to stop the black streaks from running down the side of my RV. I've always loved this site, it's always been so much more sincere than other sites, people here don't seem to make fun of people asking for advice are yell at them with capital letters. I sure hope that as more new members join here it doesn't become like other RV forums that I now avoid. Thanks for all the advise.
Mel
