Back-up Camera

I'm in-need of a good backup camera. One to use to use to back trailer by myself, if needed. I have a 2015 Ram 3500 with tailgate backup camera and a 2015 3100rl.
Any recommendations from those that have one?

The newer ones come with a furrion from the factory. I would recommend a observation camera, they can be left on while traveling to use for a rear view. Not saying Furrion is the best out there but I haven't had any problems yet.

We have had one for 10 years on two Montana's. We use it as do many others as a rear view mirror rather than a back up camera.

I put a furrion on mine it is great for driving, backup, blind spot, passing.. It beats the heck out of the cheap chinese 4 camera systems I got from ebay paid $500 an could not see the monitor in the daylight.

The Furrion back-up camera that came with my 2017 3820FK only shows 15 feet behind the back of the trailer? Is it adjustable? Plus you have to have your lights on to view it? I would like to be able to see if people are right on my tail, and I can;t see them in my mirrors?

I bought RearView safety. Cameras are bullit proof. Three years all three cameras work perfectly. Hard wire is way to go for no interruption ever. Check out web site. Sometimes CostCo has them on sale.

We couldn't agree more. Originally we bought a wireless from RearView but with the Duramax/Allison interference was a problem.
They took it back with no problem and exchanged it for a two camera hard wired system that works flawless.

You might consider this Garmin option. I have the RV version GPS and love it.

I just bought a 2016 3820fk with back up camera. Can you tell me if this comes with a monitor or how does it work. I suspect that there is not much difference between the two model years. Thanks

Make sure it is the right model. My 2016 came with the Furrion Backup system, and the signal was not strong enough to reach the back of the camper. I emailed both Furrion and keystone, and furrion said I needed the observation model, since the range was longer, Keystone ended up warranty replacing mine with the correct one, works great now. Mine was also wired to be on constantly, even with the camper was pared, the camera in the back had the blue light on indicating it was on, and draining the battery. I ended up wiring mine to the marker lights near the top of the camper. I have to have the lights on now for the camera to work, but it least it wont get burnt out from being on all the time, and drain my battery.

If it is the furrion camera, which it prob is if it was a factory option and not an aftermarket install, you can prob get a display right from them. I would look on their website and give their customer service a call. I know you can buy parts right from them...

We love our too. I went with the 50' extension cable and mounted the sending unit in the garage with my tpms booster. Both are hard wired to a switch in the garage. I love being able to toggle between gps/camera with a touch of the screen
