3160 Release Date

I just got information today from Montana. The new 3160's will be built in January and show up at dealers in February. The length is 35' 6" from bumper to pin and weighs in at 11,701 lbs. this, along with the 3100, will be the shortest Montana's available.

Sounds good for you Terrie, Ron! I did notice that the refrig will be non-accessible with the slides closed however on the 3160. That would be stopper for us. I do like the floor plan except for that problem. One point you might want to check also is the way the door opens on the bathroom. We looked at one model(don't remember the model however)and it opened into the bathroom and really made it hard to get it and once in also left no room to get around. JMHO and views!

Thanks, Rondo. Jason Gill said they will have a separate switch for that slide. Putting it out a few feet gives us access to everything. It's not perfect, but I think it will work. We'll look at the bathroom closely. Thanks for the heads up.

About the door opening, our bath is the same as the 3160. We thought we would be disappointed when our 2015 3610 came with the door opening in to the bathroom but when you consider your journey from the bedroom to the bath during the night it may be better for it to open in. Half asleep at night and trying to walk around that door that would open in to the hallway brings your footsteps very close to the edge of the stairs down to the main area. After a season of 90 nights in our new Monty we now prefer the open in door and find our bath journey in/out a breeze.

OOOPS, In taking another look at the new floor plan it's bath door appears to swing from the opposite side to ours. In the case of that new plan you have to walk around the door when coming from the kitchen area!! Will they all now be like this???? Or is it a crap shoot like ours was with some swinging in, some out, some swing left and some swing right.

Just looked at a 3611 and the bathroom door seems to be ok. I think I would like it better if there was a door also between the bedroom and bath. Not a deal breaker probably going to order one of the 3611RL Legacy tomorrow.
