we, also just bought a new 3150

Hi All, Kevin and Renee here, this is our second camper, 1st was a sunset creek TT, this is our 1st 5ver. We enjoy nascar events and I am hoping to travel to venues in some of the southern states. I did not feel so comfortable towing my tagalong long distances. I hear that the 5ver is the way to go

Hi Kevin and Renee and welcome to the forum. We have also been looking at the 3150 lately but are just not ready to pull the trigger but maybe soon. You will find that a 5th wheel tows a lot better than a TT and is much more stable. Enjoy your new rig and try and make a rally. We made our first rally at Quartzsite this year and had a great time, so we are going to another one next month and probably many more after that.

Congratulations on your new 3150RL. I'm sure you'll see a big difference with the ease of towing, a lot of storge, and overall living space. We love the 3150RL floor plan.

All the best

Regards,

David

Kevin,
The 5th wheel will tow great. Just remember to start your turn when your 5th wheels are at the pivot point. When getting ready to back into a site pull twice as far past as you think you should with your tt.
Take it to a parking lot and practice practice and practice. It does tow a lot better.
Welcome to the forum.

Hey Kevin & Renee;
We’ve had 4-travel trailers, 1-motor home and now we have the 5th wheel. It’s by far the most pleasant towing or driving experience we’ve ever had with RV’ing. Glad you joined in on the forum. You’ve certainly found a gold mine of information here. Anything you may need to know or anything you can share with us; feel free to jump in and start posting. We enjoy hearing about experiences you may have had or just a story you may want to share. Welcome to the forum!

Welcome to the forum. As John suggested, take it to a parking lot, preferably on a Sunday morning, and practice. It won't take long to get the hang of it. We hope to see you at one of the rallys this year.

When I bought my 5er and truck, I had never towed anything bigger than a U-Haul. That 5er just towed beautifully. My first tow was 300 miles to get it home from where I bought it. After that first one, it was all a piece of cake.

from a 3150 owner i want to share a couple of things--thank gosh they are under warranty.
1. the furnace is noisy! it goes on frequently and yes, it is supposedly operating correctly.
2. we've had our 2 lazy boys replaced once and one of the new ones is already having problems.
3. they are replacing our sofa
4. the electric lift motor for the front burned up within 2 months of ownership.
5. one of air conditioners is not cooling
6. the interior, though nice looking is coming apart. staples are coming out and pieces of the woodwork have come off.
7. some notes...kitchen too small; we had to add a side counter on the side.
8. no one told me that i don't have surround sound ON the TV. just the DVD player
9. if you are still going to get it make sure you have them add a couple more TV/cable/sat runs. if you get sat. tv the way a single line is run you will NOT be able to easily switch to off air TV or cable! (and yes, i understand they will do that when they are building your 3150)
lastly, the desk is a waste of space though a nice idea. and i would have probably had the double installed windows put in to cold.

Congratulations on your new unit and welcome to the forum. We are on our second Montana and have not had a problem with either one. You will love how the 5th wheel tows over a trailer.
