New Speakers Installation

I have a set of Bose speaker that I want to mount in the same hole that the original speakers are in. Has anyone done this. Because of my carpentry skills I became a mechanic so what would be the best way to increase the size of the holes to except the Bose speakers. They are a little bigger than the original speakers measuring 3" x 3".

A Rotozip tool would probably be the neatest way of enlarging the holes. It doesn't cause vibration like a scroll saw would.

I took the wood piece that is between the 3 speakers out and put the new speakers in. Then cut the wood to fit the spaces between the new speakers. Then remounted the wood with the screws that come up from underneath.

I used a wood file (fine) to enlarge the holes a bit for my Bose....
