Our first retirement move

We finally arrived in Davenport, FL, at about 10:30 Saturday night. The ranger at the entrance told us they don't normally let people set up after 10:00, but let us decide if we thought we could do it.

Since most of our "neighbors' hadn't arrived for the winter, we decided to go for it, with Rich and Helen LaScola's help. I can't even begin to express how happy we were to have them. It was a challenge, but we got it done. We are so thankful for our MOC friends!

After five days, we are very happy campers. This is a beautiful resort and we have the nicest neighbors. It's great fun to hop on the new golf cart (yep - we have one. Rich helped with that, too) and drive around waving at our fellow RVers. Uh huh. We are definitely retired.

Lucky you! Glad to hear all went well and you had good MOC friends to help you get settled in. Now just sit back and enjoy.

We are at Deer Creek RV Resort. It is really beautiful and everybody has welcomed us with open arms.

Kathy - let us know how your trip goes. Hope the new rig is everything you hope for. Enjoy your week.

Hey guys, remember us from mid-atlantic and the rally. We are live right off of I-4 at exit 38. Would love to get together and or if you need assistance. Welcome to the sunshine state!

Well, doggonit Gina, I'm jealous! That sure was one fast October. I am glad to see you got to Florida OK, and that your good neighbors, Rich and Helen, were there to help you. I am now 998 days away from retirement and look forward to catching up with you and Steve. Enjoy!

Scott - Of course we remember you and would love to meet up with you guys! I'm sure the other MOCers would love it, too. Maybe we can have our own mini-rally.

Ted - Believe me when I say, "It will be here before you know it!" We are having a blast. Steve didn't even wait a week before he bought a golf cart. Gotta have one to ride around and wave at people.
