Red Regulator died.

Pulled rig from storage to prepare for a 2 month trip to Colorado. Turned on both LP tanks. About noon I smelled what I thought was dog poop in the yard. Could not find anything?

Well wife came out and asked if I smelled propane. Nope just dog poop.

3 hours later, same smell. I opened the door on the curbside tank and heard a hissing. Diaphragm in Red Regulator is leaking.

Regulator is a Marshall #MEGR 630B Amazon $16 with free freight.

System will work with out it, but safe LP plumbing suggests it is needed.

Jim

I had mine go out years ago. I was told the reason that they put it in there in the first place was to keep the saftey valve in the tank from closing due to too much gas being release when cross over valve opens. The rush of propane to fill empty gas line is enough to make the safety valve think there is a broken line.
I was told I didn't need it, just need to be sure valve is open slowly.
