50 amp RV receptacle

I am going to install a receptacle this weekend, I was curious as to what type of wire to use. #8 THHN or THHW. It will be outside next to the panel coming from the pole. Thoughts?

Read this page and the attached instructions on wiring the plug for guidance on wiring, etc. http://www.myrv.us/electric/Pg/50amp_Service.htm

Oops, just relooked at the article and it only has guage/distance recommendations, not wire types like I thought. Good reference for you if you haven't seen it. Part of the choice comes into how you are running it, conduit or not, exposure risk, etc.

As I understand it, about the only difference is the W means water resistant. So I would guess it would depend on if it will be in sealed water tight conduit. Or exposed to moisture. Our resident licensed electrician should be able to clarify it.
