Awning sun shades

I purchased a sun shade to add to my awning when camping. It goes in groove of the main awning.

Can you roll the sun shield up with the awning temporarily while your camping? Or do you have to take it down every time you need to roll in the awning?

Same question for set of lights that you can add to the setup?

Thank you

I roll mine up with the awning all the time. Not a problem at all. But never leave it on when traveling.

Not sure about the lights I guess it depends on the wires and how they are located.

Why not leave them on when traveling?

A friend of mine had a one piece sun shade that caused a problem every time he closed the awning with the shade attached. The awning would not fully close up to the RV. The arms would not close flush.
He replaced that sun shade with a two piece type. The part that slides into the awning track extends down about two feet and has a zipper across the length of the bottom. He leaves that part on permanently and has no problems with closing the awning and having it close flush. When he wants shade, he just extends the awning and "zippers" on the lower half of the sun shade.

The extra bulk does not allow the support arms to close fully to the RV.

I put the Carefree Colorado 2 piece shade that has a 2’ piece that stays on the awning tube. The other part zips off its 6’ with a nice big zipper easy to do.

That is the problem as the awning will not close completely and I am afraid that the wind while traveling may damage the system.

Mine has a zipper down a about 2 to 3 inches and that part stayed on when traveling.

Thanks that sounds like the right way to go. I order mine sometime ago and have no idea of style or size. I’ll give it a try this coming week
