Valve stem extenders for duallys

I was looking at my duallys and there sure isn't much room between those rims and it's sure a pain to check the pressure what with the valve stem on the outer wheel on the backside and the inner wheel valve stem pointing out between the two of them.

What valve extenders have you guys used to make this an easier job? I'd like to get some extensions where I can have both of them facing the outside of the outer wheel.

On our old motorhome with duals, I found extenders that screwed into an had a mounting brace so it didn't flop around. But then I didn't have TPMS. Looking for recommendations for valve stem extenders that would bring these to the front and which I could place the TMPS caps on.

Thanks.

David

I did not have a good experience with extenders, had one come loose and flopped around, lost all air in tire. So I just took them off and have tried to use a shop to adjust.

and off to the races

buy this

https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-12-Commercial-Dual-Head-Tire-Inflator-Air-Chuck-w-Pressure-Gauge-Car-Truck/132870245722?hash=item1eefaf0d5a:g:gl4AAOSwl29b~g1-:rk:24f:0

then buy this

https://www.amazon.com/Milton-S-693-...1YHYGK9192WKPJ

Screw the short chuck off the air gauge and screw on the long extension then bend the end with the chuck near the end a few degrees using a vise and muscle to match your tire valve angle through he hole in the outside wheel, done....... no more screw on extensions that leak and could leave you on the side of the road. Make a couple and give them to your friends.
Picture is one that fits 2018 Ford Dually that I made.....simple, I keep it in my truck full time.

Bad luck with extenders. Found on Amazon a 12 inch straight chuck, works great.

my problem is I can just barely get my hand thru the hole in wheel to get to the stem and unscrew the sensor/cap. The extended chuck would help but I still have to be able to get to the stem with my hand. Maybe have to grease it up,lol !

Valve stem extensions

Hello.
We just installed these on our 2016 Chevy dually diesel. The aluminum rims were too thick to fit the clamps on, that come with the flexible extensions. We opted for solid steel extensions that mount through the rim and extend 7” out through the outside dual rim. These came from a semi truck tire shop. They do have to deflate the tire and change the stem. No mounting supports needed. These run on most big trucks everyday. They were not too expensive. I think they were $11 each. Labor to dismount the tire was the biggest thing. Well worth it.
Now my tire pressure monitoring sensors can easily be installed from the outter wheel.
Easy fix if you go to a commercial truck tire center.

Best of luck.
Randy.

Funny thing, my brand new dually came with only one plastic extension on the inner wheel on one side. It has worked great, no flaws whatsoever. So then I bought a pack of nice 2-3" long st stl extenders, and put it on the wheel that did not have one. The next day i was headed out to drive an hour to an appointment, and my tire pressure on that wheel said 3. So I go out and pushed on that tire, and sure enough it was totally flat. So I limped back home, and took it off, and never looked back. I use the 6" long air chuck that has the forward and 45 degree backward fitting on it, and it works great.

Look into Wheel Masters. They sell several kits. Been using them for years.

Got dually valve stems put on my Ram 3500 today. It is nice to have them accessible. Put on the TPMS. Noticed that the sensors read about 3-4 pounds less than what’s in the tires when compared with my brand new Milton truck tire gauge.
