Storage compartment under sofa comes open

Bought a new 5er back in March. The storage door under the sofa/bed comes open every time we travel. Has anyone found a solution to that (I am assuming others have had the same problem)?

Lots of people resonded to this same question a week or two ago. We use a long strap around the middle of the sofa. The ends stay tucked between the cushion and under the drawer when we are parked. It seems to work fine. Others suggested a tire chock. I forget the other solutions...but all good ideas!! Check out the ideas by doing a search. Good luck and happy trails.

I'm not familiar with that because we don't have one, but could you mount a couple magnetic catches to it like the ones used for cabinets and doors?

You can use a short strap that was used for you chairs and one of the brackets that are mounted on the floor for same and screw the strap to the inside top of drawer opening and attach the bracket to the floor. When you get ready to travel open drawer pull strap to outside and fasten it to bracket on floor. I had this set up on my 2008 and it worked well, so far my current coach drawer stays closed.

My dinning table is across from the sofa, so after I close the slides, I place 3 pillows between the sofa and table.

I use a small yellow wheel chock like they sell at WalMart. Just slide under the middle of the drawer and it stays shut.

Happened to us on our trip south.....I simply used one of the pillows from the sofa & stick it under the drawer! Works!

This is an excellent idea! I intend to do this with mine. Another MOC mod ... what a great place this is! Thanks for the idea.

I have a snap tool, so I drilled a hole in the metal frame between the cushions and screwed a snap in, then put another snap into the top of the drawer. Using some strapping material, like the strap to hold the chairs in, I crimped the fastener side into the material. Works great!!!

Also did this on the table to hold the leaf in.

Have you investigated the sofa itself for a strap that should already be there to secure the drawer? We did not realize it was there for about the first year! We discovered it (well, my husband found it after looking and feeling for it!) rather by accident. It works great. You slide it between the cushions, through the back and down and around and back up to the front of the drawer and latch.
