Congratulations! You're half way there. If you have cell service available, you should have broadband service. If you haven't, give Alex a call at the 3G Store. They specialize in aircards, routers and antennas.

Great news! I bet when you get the air card and are up and running with the internet, you'll have better service than we do out here in Horse Prairie. I had faith in you guys. If you could handle blackwater tank and sewer problems in sub-zero temperatures, I knew the internet problem was going to be a piece of cake!

I am probably just extra dense but what is "ACS"?
Congratulations on being up and running. We're happy for you.

Congrats on the cell phone deal! There goes the bill again! Do you realize you guys up there in Seward are warmer than we are down here in Omaha, NE??!!?? We're sitting at a warm and toasty 31 degrees right now and that's a warm spell for us since it's been varying from the single digits to mid 20's most of the week prior! I want to be back in ALASKA!! Keep us informed on the progess of that phone and internet!

Steve, ACS is a local communications company. It stands for Alaska Communication Systems (I think). Anyway, they specialize in getting service to really, really remote areas of our state! We are talking to the CG owners right now while I'm typing, and they are scheduled to get us Internet next week! Hallelujah!
Rondo, would you believe we've been 50 degrees and pouring rain for days and days? I hate it. It's too hot. It did snow today but it it's still a bit just above freezing.
Can't wait till we get it!! I'll keep y'all posted!

Do not want to be a drag on the party but before you spend money on an air card make sure data service is even available.

We agree! We are holding off on the aircard. The CG owners had their Internet provider out here yesterday measuring and such so they know where they need to put the repeaters, etc. We are hoping by Friday of this week or Monday of next week,we will have Internet. She has been trying to get it for us and is making progress. All fingers are crossed!
