Walking on slideouts
I know that our roofs are made to be walked on, which I have done on numerous occasions. What I am wondering, can the slide outs be walked on and if you have been on them, how much do you weigh (only if you want to tell me) I have thought about getting on to one of the slides to check the seals out, but thought that maybe I shouldn't. BTW, I weigh 225.

People have posted here that they have, but I can't imagine any reason to. But then I have a 12 foot step ladder.

Not sure why you couldn't. You walk, sit, stand on them when you are inside.

Coleman Davis once gave demo on this during plant tour.
He was under 200 (that is my guestimate and I am sticking to it! )
I think he mentioned a weight limit, but, I don't remember what it was.
Funny how you can remember some stuff, but not other stuff???

I understand that you walk, stand and sit in them, but I would think the undercarriage was made to support more weight than the roof would support. That is why I am currious about walking on the roofs

I scale in at 185 and don't hesitate to walk on 3 of our 4 slides but when it comes to the large living room slide I try not walk in the very middle area. If I do need to walk on the large slide I would stay near the outside edge.

I weigh in at 200#, I do not walk on top of the slide outs. I put a ladder to the side of the slide outs to clean or inspect the seals or clean the top of the slide outs.

I’ve been on them and at that time it was adding about 240lbs. It felt more solid on top than inside on the floor of the slides to me. The only thing I don’t like about being on them on top is that the edge is too close to me!

The reason I walk on them is to clean off leaves, etc, that accumulate when camped under trees, before pulling them in.

If you have seen how the slide-outs are made I don't think you would walk on them. The are made out of 1 inch aluminum tubing. I don't and won't walk on mine. If you do a search you will find out about the water leak on the slide-outs and if I remember it was from walking on them. Do what you want,it is your unit.

I just walked on mine today to sweep off 4" of snow so that I could put the slides in. Have done this many times and not had any problems. Also do this in summer months to clean off pine needles etc. I'm 190 lbs.

Right after we got our Montana we went through the factory and seen how they were built. The tour guide climbed on top and demonstrated how that you could walk on them. I don’t remember if he said anything about a weight limit or not.

I have never walked on mine, but I have been told by others that they have without problems.
