Thumbs Up For GM
I don't know who all is aware but there is a major problem with 03 and 04 Chevy and GMC dashboard instrument clusters. One or several gages start acting up followed by the entire thing crashing. GM agreed a few years ago to warranty the issue for 7 years or 70,000 miles. My 03 sits in a garage and gets driven sparingly. It has 53,000 miles on it. Well the instrument cluster has started to act up just now. I am past the 7 years. Went by my dealer and they got on the phone. GM is taking care of the problem by replacing the cluster due to low milage and the condition of the truck. The job was quoted as an $800 expense. Two thumbs up for GM!!!!

Great company, great products. Why not buy American? My wife and I are in the process of buying her a new SUV we have looked at every thing made on planet earth. After comparing everything made we are buying American.

Good for GM and even better for you!
We try to buy American as much as we can... see signature. Of course some of the parts are made elsewhere.

I had my instrument cluster replaced a few years ago and haven't had any problems since. I agree with buying American. If we don't support what industry we have left in this country, there won't be any industry left.

I've had similar good experiences with GM customer service and them replacing things out of warranty, which is why I am on my 9th GM vehicle, (including the ones I bought for my kids).

I'm glad GM stepped up to the plate. Those issues with the instrument cluster went on way to long. I've known some folks that GM wouldn't cover. If so, the simplest solution is to buy another cluster off Ebay, and swap them out. Takes around 10 minutes to pop the old one out and install the new one.
