We are getting sewer odor under our kitchen sink, I have replaced the check vent (anti siphoning vent) this is the second one we have replaced in about a year and a half....is there any other options out there? TIA

Remove the valve and plug it. I did both the kitchen and bathroom sink. No more odors

I have heard of removing it and connecting it with pex, but plugging it. How does that work?

The only way I have ever solved my gray tank odor problems were to use my Flush King and rinse out the gray tanks. I don't flush them every time I flush my black tank but probably every other time. After I began doing that we never had odors again.

We put some Happy Camper in the sink when it starts to smell and that helps. Any tank treatment will help.

Sometimes leaving the gray flush open all the time is a possible factor.

If your sink has a roof vent, then the extra vent isn't necessary and can be removed and the extra pipe stub capped off. If there isn't a vent going to the roof, then you have two choices. 1- cap it and put up with slow draining if you have a lot of water in the sink 2- convert that valve so you can put charcoal from a pet store in it. You can also replace it with a really good one. Home and restaurant remodels use them all the time, they just don't come from the low bidder.
