So. CA - Anza-Borrego, Palm Springs,Joshua Tree NP

Hello fellow MOCers,

We plan to leave Yuma on Tuesday and would like to visit Anza-Borrego Desert State Park, Palm Springs and Joshua Tree National Park.

We would like advice on other places to visit in theses area, routes and especially RV campgrounds.

As always, we appreciate any help you can offer.

Jo-Anna,

For Borrego Springs the only nice RV park is the Springs at Borrego. The other RV Park is closer to the State Park but, the sights are all backins and so tight the motor-homes have to line up so that they can interleave their slides. We stayed there in our 17 ft trailer and felt cramped. The Springs at Borrego is only a few years old and has all pull throughs on nice size sigths. With your Big Sky at 39 feet I don't think they have sights large enough in the state park campground.

At Joshua Tree to choice of RV Parks is pretty slim. Again I don't think there sights big enough for the Big Sky (or even our 35 footer) actual in the Park. There is a RV park in Twenty-Nine Palms that is a golf "Resort" but the transit sites are really just spaces on an asphalt parking area. There is also the Yucca Valley RV Park in the town of Yucca Valley (east entrance to Joshua Tree) that has nice long and wide sites all back-ins but, it is also right on the main road and in the center of town so it can be noise.

Hi JoAnna.. We took that route during Feb & March of 2006.. If you check out our blog for that time frame, you will find lots of fun things to do.
