Galley tank?
We are the second owners of a 2004 2955RL We bought it from a couple in there 70's that said they never camped anywhere except state parks. So they said they never traveled with Black, Gray or water in the galley because he would drain all three when they were being used at the state parks. The man even told me that no one has ever done a #2 in the toilet, because they would use the parks bathroom. So he didn't have a lot info on the tanks. We just got back from 8 days of camping for our first trip in it. and it's plain to see that either the sending units in all the tanks don't work or the 4 red lights don't work,Even after dumping the red lights were on .So I have all the paper work that the seller had which was 6" thick. It had everything since they bought it new. But nowhere does it say how big the galley tank is. I went to Keystone web site and looked up my year and model it gives the capacity of the Black Grey and fresh It doesn't say anything about a galley tank. Does anyone know how many gallons the Galley tank in my model is?
Thanks, Mel

The galley tank is commonly called gray #2. I would suspect it's the same as your other gray tank.

Agree, and don't worry about the sensors, they seldom accurate.

If the brochure says 72 gallon you have 36 in each gray tank... Always combined.

Yeah I went through all the original books from Montana to the first owner and it doesn't say a word about a galley tank. Just say's Fresh water 62 Gal. Black water 38 Gal. and Grey water 76 Gal.

My 2005 had two gray tanks. One for the shower and the other was for the galley. They were each 38 gallons. The second gray tank trips up a lot of new Montana owners as the dump handle for the galley tank is along the frame in front of the wheels.
The tank sensors are junk and rarely work after the first full tank. You will learn how your habits affect the rate of filling the tanks and just dump accordingly.

Yeah so I guess I have 38 each also since the book said 76 Gal. Grey water, I never had it back up into the sink but it went from two lights too 4 real fast in my opinion. so I thought we better pack up and leave as the black went from 2 to 4 red lights also, I knew that the black water indicator light was BS becuase it was just my wife and I. and yes my galley tank dump handle is between the two tires under the big slide.
Thanks, Mel

If you are filling the galley tank then you are doing to many dishes. More paper, less washing dishes.

I realized on my last trip that if the toilet burps a little while flushing, it is time to dump the black tank. I never rely on the lights. Like Carl says, you will figure out how long you can go between dumping.

Just returned from another 10 day trip to the ocean, took 3 of our grand kids and yes lots of paper products. no more galley tank filling up. I had to use the 40 gal. tote as with the kids there were more showers then normal. so I did have to dump some gray water. The guy next to us was dumping his gray water on the ground, at his camp. I said hey do you know your water is coming out? He looked at me like I was crazy and said yeah I'm draining my gray water. I said I have a tote if you want to borrow it. He said no thanks, I said you know that it's illegal what your doing. He said it's just soapy water, it's legal. About 15 minuites later two park rangers were there and judging by the ticket he now knows it's illegal
