Burlington Graphics/Keystone

I was just reading my September issue of Trailer Life when I noticed on pages 14/15 there is an article "GRAPHICS GAFFE" under RV Action Line. It mentioned that Keystone had dropped Burlington Graphics so I decided to call Keystone. After talking to a very nice and understanding young lady she told me that Keystone was still using Burlington Graphics but they had a meeting about the Graphics problem yesterday. So apparently they are getting the word and at least talking about it. She is also aware about the rally there next month and said that this really needs to be brought up to them again. She said she is on our side and really understands the frustration. So for those of you going to the rally , you need to really let them know just how widespread this problem is.

Please talk to Keystone about this at the rally. We were recently at the service center and were told by a representative of customer service that the graphics were an isolated problem. Do all of you think so?

Charlie, they really said that?? Isolated?? I think the people at the service center are top notch, but, I ain't really buying that line. Sorry service center.

Well, maybe, she types, with tongue in cheek, it is isolated ONLY to MOC members who come here and moan and groan and cry together. Ya, that's it.

OOOOOO, did she say that?? SIGHHH

Well it is not isolated to this forum as we post on a couple of others and it is also isolated on them.

After paying Burlington $278.00 for replacement graphics on our 2005 2955 and about 10 to 12 hours of not so easy removal of chipping/peeling graphics, I don't think it's an isolated problem.

Everytime we are in a RV Park we always walk the park. We see a lot of Montanas and way over half have bad graphics. The curved front cap are almost all bad. Last year the service center told me that they did not know about Mission tire having a problem.

When I was looking to purchase a new fifth wheel I thought Montana was the best buy for my dollar and after 7 years I am seeing why they had the best price. A lot of the products that they use are of not the best quality, Like the decals, roof vents that fall apart and rust and axles that bend way to easy. Don't get me wrong I am happy with the quality of the manufacuting of my Montana I just wish they would test some of these products before we get stuck with a product that does not hold up to what it was designed to do. My 2955 was "isolated" when traded. I can only wonder not if, but WHEN, the 3400 will become "isolated"

The old "head in the sand" cliche. All manufacturers use that.

We are not going to the rally, but we also have that "isolated" problems, bought ours new in 05, an 06 model and the graphics started peeling in 06, we have yet to replace them. I will be interested in what Keystone has to say about this at the rally. Keep us informed

OK, give me a moment to eat my words. Instead of "isolated" maybe I should have said they feel the number of units affected is small.

Maybe a poll on the topic "Are your Graffics Peeling on your Montana" Then we could see the actually see how many Members have this problem, as I see it the MOC is 12 and a half K members that is quite a few. it would be a interresting poll.

Just a thought.

A poll would be good. If Keystone really believes this is an "isolated" or small problem they have their head stuck in the sand (or worse)!!
I am looking at other brands soley because of the bad graphics problem. If you bought a new car and the paint started peeling off in 2 - 3 years and they wouldn't stand behind it because it's "out of warranty" would you buy the same brand next time??
Maybe Keystone just has more business these days than they can handle and don't mind losing a few hundred customers?

We just purchased our 2004 3650RK and almost didn't because of the "small" graphics problem. We sure didn't realize how widespread it was till we joined this forum. I fell in love with the rear kitchen and yes I'm the DH and do all the cooking so we bought it anyway.

I used a heat gun to remove the front graphics because they looked so bad.

Mine has been coming off for about a year. The front is the worst but driver's side is also starting to peal. I have not mistreated it.
I like the heat gun idea and may use that to get it off and just leave the front blank at some point.

Some will tell you that you have to have a heat gun but I just used a hair dryer to remove mine. It got it plenty hot enough but probably depends on the wattage of the appliance. Then I uses 3M adhesive remover to get the remaining glue residue off.

Alan, congratulations on your 3650. I have been very pleased with our trailer except for the graphics issue. Even then I would be happy if Keystone would recognize the problem and stand behind their product. I will probably buy another brand because Keystone has proved that, at least on this issue, quality and customer service is not on their list of priorities.

I guess I should not feel so bad since my unit is a 2002 after reading some of these post with folks owning much new units. The graphics are so cheap and looked so bad that I completely stripped the front cap. I have also taken a razor blade and given the side decals a "hair cut" where they were just starting to peel/curl. My hopes are that by removing the curling edges that I may be able to prolong the process of having to completely replace the decals. It looks good from a distance just don't look too close.

I did not have any luck with Burlington when I contacted them directly. I called once and was promised a call back that never came. I also sent an inquiry via their website off of the replacement decals link they had posted. Again, no reply. I guess when it finally gets to be that time, I will take the trailer to the local vinyl sign shop and have it done right. Its just such a shame to have an otherwise beautiful, well built trailer and then put cheap, sub-par graphics on it. It will definitely be a consideration when we choose to upgrade...

I think a survey would be a good idea. I have my own opinion but would be interested in the actual results.
