power receptacle goes out.

Last thing to do while leaving Lake Elsinore Ca campground yesterday was to disconnect 30amp Marinco power cord. No luck as the receptacle had welded itself together at the connect receptacle on the trailer. Hot weather with the airconditioner running 8-10 aday.Had produced enough heat in the receptacle to weld the pos. posts together in the connection. Had to unscrew the marinco outlet box off the trailer and cut the 10-2 romex wire to leave. All good now after a new cord end and a new trailer receptale power box $119.00 dollar ordeal. Any similar posts or experiances? Think from now on with air running full will leave the electric water htr on propane. trl model 2955rl. Slight burning in plug but the positive plug prong welded together from the heat generated.

It most likely was a bit loose in the outlet and arced causing the plug and outlet to weld themselves together. If the plug was tight in the outlet, it wouldn't have arced and fused together.

I had that happen a couple of times in the past. I found the molded connectors are the worst. I went to the connectors that you can take apart and bent the pins.

We had ours arc a little bit and I'm sure it was because the wires were just a bit loose. Yours sounds pretty severe and I'm glad you didn't have any more trouble than you did.
