Picked up new 3400RL and a 301 lb bear!

Wish I felt as confident as sailor!!! Thank you Keystone We Picked up our rig today in Zelienople Pa. about 42 mi from our home in South Park Pa. We came home with a beautiful rig, Saphire Blue, (good color scheme with our 2 black labs). We had a good inspection in which we learn't a million things but only remember 20 & tension headache # 101. We are new at this as our last rig was a 1991 Jayco Designer Series, no slides, front living, (which we liked that set-up)and we kept it stationary at our campground. So we feel overwhelmed and will have plenty of questions at the VA rally. One of which is, why no screen in big window in bedroom (I know it's the emergency window, but does anyone have any suggestions for a remedy? Big dissapointment as I love to wakeup hearing the morning sounds.

ps. we were at the Poconos this past weekend and saw a B-I-G black bear that weighed 301 Lbs

Congratulations on the new 3400, and glad to hear that the PDI went well. We have a screen in our bedroom window, but it is single pane window. Don't know if you have single or double, but if they are single you should have a screen.

Just curious, how do you get a bear to stand on the scales to weight it, I have never been able to do that.

Welcome. Nice story, you seem like a nice couple that will fit right in here. We all enjoy this Forum and are willing to help each other on things, so keep asking if you have questions.
The window is something many of us have been disappointed with, I assume you have double glass insulated windows. I had to buy a replacement window with a sliding screen, as it is an escape window there.
You can see a slide show on my window change, and my other mods. If you want to change the window, I would put some pressure on the dealer for the screened one, you never know.. We can come up with the window info if you are interested, it's around $230.00.
Good luck, and keep them Bears away from the Monte!

Good Luck and curious about the bear weight too! We have one roaming around our NC home here and a hunter-friend saw it and estimated it at 250 lbs, but I wouldn't have a clue.

Also noticed you're an archery hunter? Steves on MOC forum is also one.

We must not have double pane windows as our br window has a screen.

When time permits, read your Keystone manual. It will put together many unanswered questions and create new ones. We love our 3400!!!

I never knew that bear stories would be like the biggest fish story! Hmmm!

You are going to like your new home!

Hope to see you on the road some day and we can swap bear stories (Saw one in a zoo once!)

We are glad you now have that new unit in your hands. It was nice to meet you in the camp ground when we were headed to the Northeast Rally. Now we can put faces to the new owners. We will most likely be stopping at that same camp ground on our trip back to Pennsylvania in December. Maybe we can meet and see that new unit. We don't let winter stop us. Now go and have a great time with your new baby.
