Apartment Refrigerator

Hi all. My dometic fridge died and I am going to replace it with a 10 CF apartment size/style refrigerator.

Does anyone know what I have to do to cap off the gas connection and also the 12VDC lines? Also, any other ideas or suggestions?

I am replacing it with LG model #LRBP1031W. It seems to get good reviews. It comes in white and titanium. I plan to paint it black to match the other appliances. Has anyone painted a fridge? Any suggestions?

Thanks.

BibBob7777,
I suspect that you just need to cap the propane line that goes to the fridge. I'm sure you can pick up a cap at any good hardware store.

We have not painted a fridge but we did paint an oven with black appliance paint. It worked nicely. Looks almost like new. Of course it took us three tries to get it right. Sanding was our problem. We were not getting the surface smooth enough.

The Whirlpool Fridges that fit, that LOWES carried (at least last year) come in BLACK so I would suggest buying by color vs brand, especially as the Fridge is not likely to be used all the time?

Mine had a valve on the propane line. I just turned the valve off. I may put a cap on it someday...

The gas line should be plugged with a 3/8" brass flare plug. You don't need pipe dope on it. The wires can be capped with plastic yellow wire nuts. After they are on I would run electrical tape around each one just to make sure. Im with RRman, Id get the black refer and use whatever brand. Whirlpools are good units. I like the LG tv's

I would've gotten the Whirlpool. However, DW really wanted a bottom freezer and this is the only one I found that would fit.

I will try the flare plug. Thanks all.
