Thanks for posting this. I had exactly the same problem with our 3710. I was getting a wiring fault error on my F-350, that seemed to coincide with pressing the brakes. I also noticed that the braking did not seem the same as on the first trip. I brought the 3710 to the dealer with your picture. Sure enough when they opened up one of the wheels the wiring was catching on something. My recommendation is that anyone who buys a new trailer INSIST that a brake examination is part of your PDI.

I purchased a used 2011 3455sa about 2 years ago. The previous owners did me a big favor. They had Kodiak disc brakes installed.

Everyone reading this, do yourself a favor and be done with the junk electric braking system and install Kodiak Hydraulic disc brakes and your brake issues will be gone forever!!!!

You will be amazed at the difference in braking ability. This trailer stops 3 times faster that any trailer I have ever towed.

No more worries of grease on brake shoes.
No more disassembling drums/bearings to check brake shoes (you can see the pads through the wheels with them still on.
Pad seem to last forever.
No more wiring issues.

Need I say more

Cost $1500-$1700 if done yourself.
around $3500 if you have some one do it for you.

I agree with you beeje, but the brakes that come on the units should at least work and be safely installed so that the wires aren't broken.

I agree and have no idea why the NTSB is not all over the RV manufactures to produce products that meet some kind of REAL standards.

We need Honda or Toyota to start making Rvs. That will fix the issue, just like it helped the American cars

Don't need a motorcycle builder or the toy company. Just need to institute a QC program and compensate employees in a manner that instill pride in the job, not how fast it can be done. Need to move out of Indiana just as the auto makers left Detroit (and Japan) for Oh, TN, and SC. Building an RV is not rocket science, they just should not be built at rocket speed. If built correctly a 2 or 3 year warranty could be given as there would be far fewer warranty claims. Dealers would push the product with fewer warranty returns and reasonable compensation. Cost to build may increase but cost of warranty claims would offset a large portion. Easy to track every component in every unit which would make holding employees accountable. It would also make tracking the quality of installed products easy and those with excessive problems easily exchanged with others. Not a lot to choose from but possible. The only problem is, there is no reason to as every company uses the same methods.

I looked at those before the Montana was purchased. Impressive cabinetry and trim. Price was less impressive but doable. Not impressed with any available floor plan though.

I thought price was acceptable based on material quality and workmanship. Everything was the same that goes into the tifflin motor homes. Same cabinetry, furniture, carpet, flooring AC system, etc. Not fair to compare against the Montana line, this line is a higher end unit. Run $10-15k higher. Just wanted to share a non-Indiana product line. You are right, limited floor plans.

And when you do business with a company that will make changes they get pricy. We have an approved floor plan on file with a company out west and a deposit to hold the price. When I get the stick house sold we will increase the deposit so construction starts.

The cost about what a new TV and a new Montana would cost.

I will be purchasing a new TV soon just rolled over 200,000 miles.
