We got the job!

Next winter we'll be working at the Imperial National Wildlife Refuge for the U.S. Fish and Wildlife folks. It's located north of Yuma. That should allow us to visit the circle at Quartzite and we'll be able to drop by and see folks camping at the dam area below us. Since we'll be living there we won't have the flat tire and have to work in Eastern Arizona the next day issues that kept us from visiting those who were camping there this year. These folks want the best work campers they can get so they start looking early. If it sounds like something that would interest you, they are currently advertising at Volunteer.gov. They offer full hookups, a shower building with a full kitchen and freezer space and warm weather. They expect you to work 24 hours per week (three days on four days off) in the visitor center or doing minor maintenance work and/or possibly public relations and school visits in Yuma. If your just in the area they have a wonderful visitors center and you can view a variety of migratory birds and other wildlife.
