adding washer dryer comb
I have a 2016 HC 353RL and am looking to add a washer dryer combo on the right side of the closet. There is a shelf in the way and I am wondering if I remove the shelf, will it weaken the closet door wall. Need someone to tell me best way.
Thanks, dealer not much help.

We have a different and much older rig, but we took the shelf out years ago.

On our 305HC the clothes bar is attached to the bottom or the shelf. Is yours that way? ours is set up for 2 seperate units.

I took mine out. No problem. If you haven't got your combo I would suggest not getting a ventless one. I have one and it takes forever to dry a load.

We have a 2015 305RL and just took out the middle shelf. I didn't notice any diminished stability. I measured and measured and measured, before drilling a small 3/16" pilot hole for the vent. I figured if I had missed, the small hole would caulk up nicely. Once I was convinced the hole was good, time to get the 4" hole saw and put a massive hole in the side of your brand new rig! Haha, it wasn't that bad.
I installed a washer pan under the combo unit and ran a drain line to the bottom of the front cap in case we sprung a leak with one of the hose. I wish they had put the water lines up higher because they are covered up by the combo unit. I also bought a short extension cord with a small, thin, angled male plug from Walmart to aid with the tight space. It really isn't too bad of a job. We love our unit and use it regularly.

We had the Splendide 2100XC installed summer before last, no issue with installation, none with cabinet doors. Love it.
One tip we learned the hard way, if your overflow drain pan is plumbed into grey water tank, leave grey water valve open during washer operation. We leave ours open all the time.
