New towing mirrors for 2009 GMC 2500 HD

I am looking to replace the standard mirrors that came on my 2009 GMC 2500 with towing mirrors Current mirrors are power adjustible, heated and have the LED turn signals.

Went to my local GMC dealer who said they would be happy to put new GMC towing mirrors on for $1100 dollars $750 for the mirrors and the rest for installation. The alterative suggested by the salesman might be the 2015 3500 dually which already comes with towing mirrors chrome no less . Got to love salesmen they always have our best interests at heart.

So the question to MOC group is I need to find is a quality set of OEM compatible towing mirrors for less than $ 750.00. Its not that hard to remove the door panels and old mirrors.

Any words of wisdom ?

Take a look at these:

My brother put a pair on his older Silverado and they worked out great.

Your dealer is only supporting the theory that you can do almost anything if you have enough money. However I think he is wrong about the cost, in that it will probably be more than he quoted. The new telescoping mirrors use a different number of mounting bolts and require a fair amount of rewiring to get them to work on anything older than 2014. I'm guessing the dealer thinks they are easy to mount and plug and play, but they absolutely are not.

You can however use the older style for considerably less money, but you may still run into issues getting the turn indicators to work without special wiring - I'm not sure.

I had a 2008 Silverado with standard mirrors. I bought mirrors on eBay for about $200 for the pair. The mirrors were power and heated but manual telescope. The local Chevy dealer charged me $65 to install them. The mounting bolts/pattern were identical to standard mirrors. This was about 4 years ago.

The link I posted for the aftermarket mirrors are plug and play. Same mounting holes as what I call the 1/2 ton mirrors. As long as you have power windows, the mirrors plug into the window switches. You will have no issues on your 2009 HD.

Kevin those mirrors were a great find. That's why I love this group! Solutions to problems are only a question away!

Thanks every body in particular Beth and Kevin for the link to the mirrors. I have a plan now to replace my mirrors but not the truck. Wow a new GMC 3500 costs as much as my house did brand new.
