3750/3850 King Size Mattress height question
I am hoping someone has ready access to their 3750 or 3850 mattress and can verify the height of the mattress (It may work for any rig, since I believe all the factory supplied mattresses are the same). We are looking at replacing the mattress with a Sleep Number Premier RV mattress and know that the height of the replacement mattress is eleven inches. This is a critical factor in these rigs since the bed actually goes beneath the closet when the slides are closed. The dresser drawers beneath the closet actually are pressed in and the bed frame with mattress slide in under the upper closet area when the drawer frame is pressed in. Our rig is in mini-storage and I can measure at some point, but curiosity is getting the better of me. Can anyone provide the mattress height?

I don't think I can trust his measurements, he is too nervous and fidgety until his new rig arrives! LOL!

Bingo, mattress is approximately 8 inches tall. I have a 3 inch foam topper on top. I have to fold the bedspread back or it gets drug off when I put slides out. Looks like there is at least 12 inches under the wardrobe. Mattress is 80 inches long. Hope that helps. Tell me how you like your sleep number..

Thanks KOLCB, that makes sense, I have a four inch pad on our existing one and I have to fold it back under itself or it will bend the pad at the foot of the bed when trying to retract slides. Sounds like the 11 inch Sleep Number will work then. I remember even before we put the pad on it, with just the OEM mattress that the bed spread always go pulled off.

One thing to also check is the width of your current mattress. I just removed my king from my 2012 3455 and the dimensions are 72" x 80". The standard residential king mattress dimensions are 76" x 80" so it appears that the RV Kings are 4" narrower. BTW, the thickness of my mattress was 9".

Sorry to be so nervous and slow to answer Bingo, LOL. It is about 8 inches as already posted. I've been out on the farm a couple of days with my grandsons 4 wheeling. Just back to work today.

Larry,
We will need to have the Sleep Number Bed Premier verified to work in the 3850. The premier is 11" thick and the deluxe is 8" thick. I am not really interested in the deluxe due to some bad reviews on various sites. Perhaps one of your technicians can check the 3850 that you have on the lot. The slides will have to be closed, then I guess the tech can enter through the bathroom sliding door and check the clearance that is still present on top of the factory supplied mattress. Hate to get everything sorted out and then have to scramble at the last minute for a mattress solution.

Bingo, we have exactly what you're asking about. We have a 2013 3750FL Big Sky that we put a Sleep Number Premier King with the rounded corners. Only difference is, we have the standard king size, not the RV king size. Even with sheets and a heavy blanket, it goes into the drawers with no problem.

Thanks Terry and Sammie, that is exactly what we were hoping for, someone that has done it. Once again, the informative power and resourcefulness of the MOC has proven itself!! I think we have the normal King Size in our 3750 as well since a regular King Size memory foam pad sits atop it. Any comments, pro or con, on your Sleep Number bed. Cathy and I both have chronic back problems and this is just about our last resort on trying to get something where a night's sleep does not take us all morning to recover from.

It sounds like it will work Larry, but double-checking will not hurt. If everything looks like a go fit-wise, we need to make sure that the supercenter has the Sleep Number Premier Radius King in stock at the time of delivery. If everything checks out, we want to purchase the mattress when we take delivery.

After reading vangoes message I have to correct myself, we do have the RV king after all with the rounded corners. I thought the RV king was smaller than the 72X80" size. Ours is in fact 72X80", so therefore it is an RV king. In any case, ours does go into the drawers without a problem.
Any comments that I would have about the Sleep Number, would all be PRO. We like ours so well, we have one in our home also. I also have chronic back problems, and the nice thing about the mattress is, if you think it is too soft our too hard, it is easy to adjust to your liking.

Sounds like we also have the RV King mattress in the current 3750. I think I measured it the other day and it was 72" wide. I will double check this weekend.

Just got back from a few days camping with no WiFi. You really do have to take a break occasionally.
Our mattress is a king and measures 72 wide, 80 long, 8 deep.
My brother has back problems and would not be without his sleep number mattress. He swears by it.
