I have finished the drain pan part of the project. I used 2 identical 1 3/4" drains from Home Depot along with some 1 1/2" flexible hose like on a vacuum cleaner.

I am still going to add a little steel wool to the drain to keep bugs out. Next step is to find the framing and drill for the vent.

Finally got it finished today. Man, it is tough to get it in place. I ran a quick wash and didn't have any leaks, so I think its good. I ran the vent straight out from the washer and it seemed to work pretty good. I painted the outside piece black and it just happened to go right where one of the black decals is so it blends in real well.
I strapped it to my 2 wheel dolly and we got it up to the stairs before the bedroom. Then we sat it on a fender cover I have and scooted it to the closet. Then the fun began. At one point today, I would have loved to have met the one who designed the placement of the washer!
I bought a 90 degree extension cord that is designed for tight spaces at Home Depot and it worked great.
Anyway, thanks for the help 7.3Ford. You gave great pointers from your posts.

We had the 06 3400 and now the 13 3402 pretty much the same Montana with the same W/D unit in the pantry closet right inside the entry door. She did not want one in the bedroom area. We are bolted right to the floor as they do vibrate on High spin. have had ours for 9 years now with not a problem and we are heavy users.

We just picked up our 2015 Montana High Country 305RL this weekend that has the same closet design as your Monty. We are planning a washer/dryer as well and don't really like the location either. We were wondering if you could put the washer in the floor facing the bedroom and still get it to drain like it should? It would make getting to the right side hard to put anything except large items. But shirts and the like should still be able to slide on the clothes rod above the washer. Plus the washer would face out and be easier to access. And you wouldn't have to slide the clothes each time to use the washer.
Any thoughts?

We have a 2015 305RL with washer/dryer combo it faces out and works fine.

Hi Folks,
We had enough of Keystone Engineer, which had the door opening into your closet. Was a pain, but redesigned the Washer/Dryer for many of the 2015 Montana's, so the Washer door opens into the bedroom like it should have been from the beginning.
See link below to photos, first picture is Keystone's design, and them my modification.

Good job. Exactly the way it should have been designed from the start.
