Slide out sweep tool
Has anyone bought/used one of these? If so, what is your impression? What did you pay for it?

Haven't bought or used one but I do have an impression.
Why is the person in the second photo sweeping off their slide topper ?
Isn't that the point of slide toppers, not having to "sweep" them ?

They said it was a must have. How on earth did I make it all these years without one. If you bought all this stuff they say you need for your RV you couldn't get in it.

I also use a leaf blower that I carry with me. You can buy tube extension kits that are made to blow out gutters, but work well on RV slide roofs. You just stand on the ground and blow them off.

If you camp in the trees, especially pine trees, you have to get the cones off before pulling in the slide. And, if there for a while, you'll have lots of sticks up there too.

I made something like that several years ago with a push broom and PVC pipe. It would clean most of the leaves off but since I was on the ground it was impossible to knew if everything clean. Have not used it in a long time.

I think you missed what I commented about. The picture shows someone "sweeping" the slide topper not the slide roof. Sticks and cones will roll off the topper as the slide retracts.

Nope, I'm with you. Not all toppers roll up like the Montana OEMs do. Some have a metal cover on the outside. So, if you roll up a pine cone or some sticks, you have a big mess with these things stuck up under the cover.

We use the blower with home made extension tubes made from square plastic gutter down spouts. works for us and i know the leaves and sticks are gone when we are done.
