New Shades

The wife and I had MCD dual shades installed throughout the rig to replace the pleated shades that came with the unit. We had the work done at MCD Innovations in McKinney, TX. We love the difference in the look and the functionality of the new shades. Now when the sunlight gets to a point where we want to shut it out we can. We had black shades installed in the bedroom and cream color shades in the kitchen and living room. Her are a few pictures of the shades.

We had these shades put on at the MCD Factory last fall and so far we really love them. Everyone at the MCD plant are wonderful to deal with.

They look very nice. That's on our list to be our next major mod.

They look very nice. I want to replaced my shades in the bedroom. I like the factory day / night shades but at night they don't block out enough light in the bedroom. My GF needs it to be pitch black for her to sleep. If our sight happened to be near a light post the bedroom is lit up. I want a dual shade but need the night shade to be a blackout shade.

Ok. I just went to their website to check out the shades and how they work. They are nice and I like the fact that they only have 5 fabric choices. It makes it a lot easier to decide. They are 2 roller shades mounted one on top of the other. You just pull down which ever shade you want to use. Nice simple and it works. No more strings or messing with pleats when trying to retract your day / night shades. They are definitely on the upgrade list.

Does it matter on the position of the shades when you are towing? All the way up, all the way down, or halfway?

We travel with our shades all the way down. We have never tried any other position. We just automatically pull them down.

In March we had MCD install just one of their shades in the bedroom. I watched Calvin (the installer) while he installed it and he showed me how to install it and went slow so I could see how to do it. He is great at his job and customer relations. Since then I have installed 4 more, 2 in this past week. If you want good shades go to MCD. We roll ours up when on the road. Felt like it was too much swing and sway. They should help keep Monte cooler on those days like we are having now. Kinda pricey but are so much better than what came with the unit when new. Nice and dark in bedroom too.

They charge $90.00 an hour. He's pretty fast. Probably 2 per hr. Min. charge 1/2 hr. They have sites to park in while they work & for overnighters. Water & 50 amp. Appointment only. Very nice people.....no, I don't work there.
