Furnace not real hot and propane smell outside
Hey gang....my furnace has started to act up....the burner doesn't seem to be burning as hot as it should and I have the smell of propane outside. It is lighting and the bottls are full and all other propane systems operate normally....any ideas that I might check before I take her to the shop?

I think you should, RIGHT NOW, turn off the propane at the tanks, make sure the rig is well aired out, and tow it directly to your repair shop or call in a mobile repair guy that is certified to work on the propane system and heater. Wouldn't want to hear about an RV fire before you get back on here to let us know what the problem was and how it was fixed.

I am guessing no one has experienced this problem before. ... the furnace is the problem. .. if it's not on there is no smell. .. it's like it isn't burning it all? ??

Good advice by rohrmann. IF you smell propane you definitely need to turn all propane off. You didn't say what year your unit is but no matter what get it to a dealer or contact a mobile service tech and have them check out your unit's furnace and gas lines. IF it is a newer unit, contact Keystone Customer Service in Goshen and let them know what your problem is. If it's a newer unit it should be covered under the warranty and if it's not a newer unit and you have an extended service plan all repairs should be covered except for the deductible. Let us know when you find out what the problems was and post it here so we can get some idea of the problem if it should come up with one of our rigs.

Exactly. You have unburned propane going somewhere else besides the burner, which is dangerous, plus there is the danger of carbon monoxide from possible incomplete combustion. I wouldn't mess with it.
