adjusting hitch height after buying taller tires

I am needing advice (again).....The tires I bought are about 1.7" taller in dia. so it raised my unit about an inch....is that enough that I should raise my hitch one hole to keep it level? I did not actually check to see how much if any out of level it is after the tire change. May be a silly question, but I would appreciate your all's input....Thanks

I would think if you raised the truck you would want to lower the hitch because it should be sitting higher now (rv)

When I had IS added they lowered my pinbox and lowered my hitch. Previous to that I had the hitch up on a high setting and that evened it out while lowering the hitch setting. Basically, you should do everything you can to tow level.

I would doubt raising the 5er 1" at the tires would have much impact on the overall trailer level. But if it did, raising the hitch a bolt hole would be no problem.

Hook it up to the truck and check the level of the 5'er. Adjust the hitch as necessary. Jim

If you unit was level before I doubt that you would have to do anything as 1" simply won't make much difference.

Increasing 1.7" diameter on the tire, you're only talking a bit over 3/4" in height change. (1/2 the dia will be your height change) Not worth the bother I'd guess. Most pin boxes and hitches hole patterns are in 2" increments anyhow.

I found out that my 5th wheel tows better if it is a slight bit lower in the front than being level.

Dieselguy hit the nail on the head. You've not raised it enough to warrant changing the hitch height - unless it wasn't level to begin with.
