Time to leave and the front jacks wouldn't work!!!

Wow, talk about a bummer, planning on leaving at midnight and we are packing up the rig and getting everything ready to go for the fourteen hour pull. So I decide to go ahead and hook up before I take a short nap before leaving. Thirty degrees out and I hit extend on the front jacks and........nothing. Surely this isn't happening to me. So, I check the infamous jack fuse and it is fine, replace it anyway and still nothing. Now I am getting a little worried, so out comes the old faithful hand jack. I start the arduous process of hand cranking, and after a few turns, I say what the heck and try the switch. Presto, Shazzam, it works. Yayyyyy!! The only thing I can figure is that I retracted too far (I do have painted marks). Oh well, gotta go take my couple hour nap, then hit the road. Destin, Florida......here we come. In case I can't get on-line there, I want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving!!!!

Happy Thanksgiving back to you Bingo & family!

That happened to me once not long after we got our unit. We were in a state park in ILL and I went to raise or lower the jacks and nothing happened. I tried it a little later and it worked just fine. It seems to me that I read on this forum this has also happened to other people at times; which makes it sound like an anomaly. I’ve never had any trouble since and I didn’t know about the fuse then. Come to think of it I’m not even sure just where its located now.

Have a great time!

Some time ago I was having trouble with the landing gear motor failing to operate intermitently (usually when I was in a hurry). I found that it was caused by the brushes in the motor sticking in their guides and so not contacting the armature. I removed them (carefully) and filed the sides so they moved smoothly in the guides and had no more problems.
