Shear Pin

Where can I get a sear pin for the landing gear on my 2400RL?

If you have the old one, you can take it to a hardware store and check there. I could not find one locally, and had to go to Fastenall (sp) and but 100. The driver side is 1" and the other side is 1 1/4" The driver side needs a Castle locking nut a standard locking nut is too tall and will hit the motor. The other side can use any locking nut.

Hope this is not too late.

My recollection is that it's a 1/4x20 bolt, available at most hardware stores?!!

I have had problems with the landing gear motor also. It froze up and would not operate, I took the motor off. pulled it apart and found a bearing locked up. I freed the motor up and it worked for that trip. During this process I also broke the pin you asked about. Mine is a role pin and I took a piece to the Lowes and found one of same size.

If you just need to get your gear up and have a set of allen wrenches, you can slip one through the hole where the shear pin is and duct tape it. It will at least get you going. H. John Kohl posted that tip some time back.
