Hi gang,
I have air bags on my 3500.
1) should they hold air all the time(mine bleed down to nothing)
2) how much air should I use. We have a 39' mountaineer. Approximately 14,500lbs
Thanks for your input
Rick

We run at 55 PSI when towing. For us, two to three PSI loss per month.

I can only comment on the AirLift bags, they require a minimum of 5lbs. If you have the newer ones with the internal bumper than they say it won't hurt it to run at 0 psi but recommend 5 psi also, go figure! As far as when pulling your trailer, well that's just subjective. Start by putting enough to level your truck then adjust to suite.

Old rig and old truck I used 25# high and 3# low. New truck and rig we do 30# high and 5# low.

As far as how much air to carry you want your TV level! And they should not bleed down to nothing sounds like you have a leak. you can check it with soap & water mix and spray it on the bags and all the lines & fittings with air in the bags to see wear the leak is.
