12v light bulbs?

I wanted to have some spare 12v light bulbs on hand in case one burned out. The ones I was looking at were the ones with the push in and twist base. The bulb rack at Camping World had bunches of bulbs that all looked the same, but with many different model numbers. None of the help could tell me what the different numbers meant. They also tried to convince me that I should replace my bulbs with the extremely higher priced LED lights.

Does anyone have a simple guide to the meaning of light bulb numbers?

Gleaned this from Michael and Kats archived post about LED conversions ...
1156 = BA15s for the porch, scare and front utility light.

1004 = BA15d for wall sconces and some kitchen fixtures.

PS ... the BA15(s) (d) is just the configuration of the bulb base. Although more money ... once you go LED, you'll wonder why it took you so long. Much better white light and alot less amp draw if dry camping.

Can't help you with the numbers since we replaced all our bulbs with LED's form Michael and Kat (snfexpress) on the forum. They do it as a business and have a website, I forget the address but someone will be along soon that has it or you can email them and they will email you back a catalog. They have a great product, good customer service, great prices and they're just plain nice folks. If you spend any time at all off the grid you'll appreciate the lower amp draw from the LED's.

There are numbers engraved into the metal ends of the bulbs. I replace ours with LEDs when they fail. Most of the bulbs in our new coach are Upgraded to LEDs.

Hi

I replaced all of my 12 v lights with the LED’s from Michael & Kate.

It is costly but worth the cost. That was now a couple of years ago (I think) and I haven't had to replace one yet.

A large number of the bulbs I remove had already tuned black and would have burnout soon. The LED’s show no signs of changing the amount of light they give or show any signs of heat.

I have one on the front of the trailer that burns 24 / 7 and is still going strong.

To answer your posted question ... I looked in my stash of replaced bulbs when I changed over. The automotive style twist and turn are 1076's ... the bayonet style like in your ceiling lights are 921's.
